Street Children Project Update
January 2007
Dear Cliff,
We are excited to update you on the progress with the new home for the Street Children's Project.  In this update we will be highlighting our work day as well as our current needs for the house.  If all goes well the boys will be moving into the house within the next two weeks.  We want to thank you for your support and prayers for our work with the boys.  Everyone involved in this ministry feels a great expectation that 2007 is going to be a great year in the lives of these special boys.  Please continue to pray with us.  You can also stay in touch by visiting our website at www.equipperssa.com.
pj Work Day at the Boys' New House
Saturday, January 27th we had a work day at the new home we are establishing for the boys.  We had a great response of people coming to help from the community and all the boys were there to work as well.  We were able to paint the entire interior of the house.  It was such an encouragement to see everyone working so hard with the pride of having a "new home!"  PJ is pictured here as he gathers supplies for the day.

pieter Pieter is Back from America
"He is talking and chatting like I have never heard before!"  These were Jackie's words when she saw Pieter for the first time after he returned from his trip to America.  It is so evident that God is working in Pieter's life.  Pieter is the oldest of three brothers.  Leno is pictured here behind Pieter and PJ is pictured above.  The boys' mother lives in someone's backyard in a tiny shack and is unfit to care for them.  As a result, the boys took to the streets nearly 7 years ago.  They have now been involved in our project for nearly 5 years.  Pieter is eighteen years old.  Once very shy and timid to talk, he is now opening up and expressing himself openly and confidently.  He recently traveled to America with several others from South Africa and attended a prayer conference in Kansas City at the International House of Prayer.  God deeply touched Pieter's life during this time.  He is very much a leader among all the boys in our program and needs our prayers as he continues along his journey of healing and restoration.  He is a very gifted young man and we believe God has many things in store for his future.  There are still many areas in Pieter's life that need God's touch.  Will you please join with us as we trust God to continue to work in Pieter's life.

Shoe Donation
We want to thank
First Baptist Church of Texarkana, Texas for their generous donation to the project for shoes for the boys.  They will be able to start the new school year with a fresh pair of shoes!

Charlie's School Update

charlie

We got a picture of Charlie this weekend doing some painting at the new house.  Charlie started high school this past week.  As we shared before, Charlie was accepted to one of the best local high schools in Worcester.  This will be a great opportunity for Charlie to receive a quality education which will give him better opportunities in the future.  We spoke with Charlie this weekend and he said he is really enjoying his new school.  He has already made several new friends and he is looking forward to a great year.
