April 2007
Banner Dear Cliff,
Happy Easter!  It is wonderful to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and know we serve a living God.  We trust that you are doing well and experiencing the love of the Father in your life today.  March was very busy and full of blessings from the Lord.  As you will see in the update, we had many new experiences and opportunities to see God's hand at work in the lives of folks from around the world.  We are so encouraged to know that God is at work in us both to will and to work for His good pleasure.  We hope you are blessed and built up as you read this month's update.

Be a Light . . . Mission 2007

In March we had the privilege of hosting the mission team from Lake Country Christian School in Fort Worth, Texas.  The team of fourteen high school students and three adults joined us in Worcester for a week of outreach to our local community.  You can view a short, ten minute video online of the team's outreach by clicking here.

During their time here in Worcester, the Lake Country students were able to minister in the local schools.  They came prepared with lots of fun "American" skits, including a Texas line dance that all the students enjoyed.  They were also prepared to share the gospel through drama and preaching.  The students visited five local schools and shared the good news of Jesus with over 1,000 students.  It was a great blessing to see the response of the students.  We are so thankful for the opportunity to be here and that we are able to share Christ openly in the schools.
ian Hospital Ministry
Perhaps the most significant life-changing ministry during their trip was the time the team spent visiting two of our local hospitals.  Actually one facility is more of a day care for extremely disabled children.  The other facility they visited daily was a local TB (Tuberculosis) hospital.  The students spent several hours each day being the hands and feet of Jesus to serve and show His love to very needy children.

The children in the Sean John Kelly Training Center suffer from extreme disabilities, many of which are a direct result of neglect or abuse.  Their life stories are very sad, but their lives were an inspiration to us all.  At the present time the facility can only function as a day care while the children return to their homes at night.  They have a vision to establish a full-time residential treatment facility in the future for these children.

jesse kidsThe  children in the TB hospital are all recuperating from tuberculosis and are on a very strict medication regiment.  They must receive their medication daily for six months without missing one dose.  If they miss their medication the TB strengthens against the medication and becomes very difficult to cure.  TB is an increasing problem in Africa and these children lack the necessary dietary nutrition to keep their bodies strong against it.  Many of the 50+ children in the ward at any given time will leave after their six month stay to be placed in foster care until their home lives are rehabilitated through the work of local social workers.

We were overwhelmed by the work the Lord did in all our hearts as we reached out to show these special ones the love of God in practical ways.  We plan to develop relationships with both organizations in the future.

outreach Community Outreach
As part of their time here in Worcester, the Lake Country team blessed our communities in a very practical way.  The team brought many things like toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, as well as games and toys for the children.  All the people were very blessed to receive these gifts and were very receptive to the gospel as the team shared openly with a large group of people who gathered during their outreach time.  We were reminded again what a wonderful blessing it is to see people open and hungry for the gospel.  We pray God will move powerfully in our local communities.

Knowing Christ!

The Lord has been impressing upon my heart in the last few weeks that there is so much more for us as His children.  I believe that we are in a season in which the Lord wants to place us beneath an open heaven of revelation.  We need to position ourselves in such a way that we ask daily for the spirit of wisdom and revelation into the knowledge of Him to be poured out upon us in full measure.  God wants us to go into new depths of knowing Him like never before.  This type of knowing begins with revelation of Him in deeper ways that impacts us at the innermost places in our hearts and spirits.  My prayer and desire for you is that you will grow in your personal knowledge of Christ Jesus as your total source of life.  I believe the cry of our hearts in this season, and the rest of our lives, should be the same cry of Paul when he said, "More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ" (Phil. 3:8).  As the years go by, I am more and more aware that all that truly matters is Him.  The simplicity of Christ is a stumbling block to many who are constantly making the Christian walk more complicated with advanced techniques and approaches to knowing God and serving Him.  I am convinced that there is nothing that can compare to simply knowing Jesus as our life and walking in the amazing freedom that He has given us.  Pray with me that God will do this work in our hearts for His glory.

Family Update

March was a busy and rewarding month for us as a family.  Hosting the team from Lake Country Christian School was lots of fun and kept us running. The kids really enjoyed being around some Americans.  It was really special for Katie since she graduated from LCCS last year and she knew all the students personally.  Cliff also taught for a week at the YWAM base in the DTS.  As always, this was a blessed time and the students were very receptive to the Lord's working in their hearts.  Cliff also completed a ten week teaching time for the body in Worcester.  God really blessed this time and many were encouraged through the teachings.  If you are interested in listening to any of these teachings you can visit the Audio Teachings section of our website.  Stephanie also started her work on the annual school musical which she will be directing this year.  The children are performing the middle school version of the Broadway production, Annie Jr.  Our "dramatic daughter" Natalie was awarded the lead role of Annie.  The performance will be in November.
Two of Cliff's outreaches to Africa that were scheduled for March and April have been canceled for various reasons.  We have really sensed the Lord's purposes in these trips being canceled and know that He has desired us to be more involved in several ministry activities here locally that would not have been possible if Cliff had been traveling.  We continue to learn the joy and freedom of walking with Him as He directs our steps!
We want to thank you for your continued love, support and prayers for us.  You are a blessing to us in more ways than you will ever know.
Growing in Him,
Cliff, Stephanie, Camille, Natalie & Wesley
