Ministry & Family Update
August 2007
Dear J. Cliff,
familypicThe last two months have been amazing!  After 10 border crossings, five different countries, and over 3,500 miles, we are back home safe and sound.  Our three week family outreach through southern Africa was a huge blessing.  Just five days after arriving home, Cliff departed for a two week outreach to Zimbabwe.  We are glad to report that God is moving in Africa.  The hearts of the people are open wide and hungry to learn more about the grace of God for their lives.  We are so blessed to be a part of this work and are humbled to be able to spend this season of our lives serving these wonderful people.  We trust you are blessed and that our update is an encouragement to you.
Zimbabwe Outreach
rodugysEquippers' most recent ministry outreach to  Zimbabwe (July 22-August 3) was both challenging and rewarding.  Cliff was joined by Rodney Kirkpatrick and Randal Lee from the United States.  As many of you know, Zimbabwe is going through very difficult times now.  Resources are scarce, but God is faithful to provide all that his children there need.  We were involved in a week long conference in Harare where we taught leaders during the day and held corporate meetings with the body at night.  We then traveled to Bulawayo where we held a three day leader's seminar.  We saw the power of God move in the hearts of His people.  God moved on behalf of many to heal them of physical sicknesses as well as to speak to them prophetically for encouragement.  Pictured here are Rodney Kirkpatrick from the States, Billy Mpofu (Bulawayo) and Jonathan Chatendeuka (Harare).

Botswana & Zambia Outreach
kidswashIn June & July the family traveled through Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Namibia.  We held equipping modules in Francistown, Botswana and Livingstone, Zambia.  During our time in Francistown, we stayed with our good friends, Emmanuel & Kabwe Yoswa.  stephkabweThe family had a great time getting to know more about the african culture.  You can see the kids learned new ways of washing clothes.  Stephanie enjoyed making new friends, especially with Kabwe, Emmanuel's wife.  We were able to spend time teaching and equipping leaders from the Francistown area (pictured below) as well as encourage the local church in evening meetings.

francistownFrom Botswana we made our way to Zimbabwe where we camped at Victoria Falls for four days.  During our time at the falls we crossed over to Livingstone, Zambia every day where we held an equipping module forzamgroup leaders for three days (pictured at the right).  In Livingstone we met up with an old friend, Graham Banda from Lusaka, Zambia, who coordinated the meetings.  We also met some new friends.  We really enjoyed getting to know Joseph Kaluba, who is a local pastor in Livingstone.  Stephanie and the kids are pictured here with Joseph and Graham.  It was great to have the family along to join in the ministry.  We hope to do more traveling together in the future as the Lord allows.  The kids really enjoyed being a part of everything.  As you can see here, Wesley was always in the thick of things, even as Cliff was livingstoneteaching and ministering.   cliffwesWe continue to enjoy the favor of the Lord as He is opening many doors of opportunity for us throughout southern Africa.  Please continue to pray with us as we discern exactly where it is that God would have us labor.
Family Update
familyriverIt was the fulfillment of a dream to travel into Africa with our children and share the ministry together as a family.  As you can see, we made wonderful memories that we will always treasure.  The Lord was so faithful to provide for us and protect us as He took care of all the details of the trip.  It was a blessing to meet some of the African friends that Cliff has been ministering with over the years.  fallsWe also enjoyed the natural wonders and the abundance of the wild game in their natural habitat.  We regularly saw elephants and other wildlife while we were driving down the road!  We camped in tents for 10 days in three different locations, the longest we have ever camped.  The children really enjoy fishing, so we did everything from worm fishing with a string-line off the bank of the Zambezi River in Namibia to cast-fishing off a boat we hired for a day on the Okavango River in Botswana.  We thank God for maturing our family and drawing us closer through this experience.

kidsboatThis is the birthday season for the Canipes.  Stephanie and Natalie just celebrated their 40th and 10th birthdays.  Camille and Cliff celebrate their birthdays on the 5th and 29th of September.  The girls are finishing hockey season at school and Stephanie is still busy working with the school children oncamping the Annie Jr. musical they will be presenting November 1st. Wesley has finished physical therapy and occupational therapy and has begun taking swimming lessons.  He enjoys swimming very much.  We're all missing our family and friends in America and are really looking forward to our visit to America in December and January.  We hope to see many of you then!
