Dear Friends,

Hello from the Canipes. We are glad to be able to give you another update from South Africa. November has been a very busy month for us. As you will see from the pictures, Cliff was busy ministering in Kenya for 12 days during this month. While he was in Kenya, Stephanie continued with the YWAM school and had 2 girls from Elsie's River as houseguests for a week. They came for personal ministry and discipleship. In addition to his time in Kenya, we also hosted Rene Brown for a week in our home before he returned home to the States where he lives with his wife, Elizabeth, in Kerrville, Texas. It was great to spend time with our spiritual father and good friend and discuss what God is doing in our lives and in Africa.

This month was Cliff's first time to travel into Africa since we moved here in January. Cliff departed on November 6th where he met Rene and Bob Sloan, both from the US. The three of them sepent 3 days in Kisumu, Kenya where they met with about twelve men who are involved in an apostolic/teaching ministry across Africa. Two men came from the west African countries of Togo and Benin while two others came fom the southern African countries of Zimbabwe and Malawi. The rest of the team consisted of Kenyans and one brother from Tanzania. The men had a personal time of sharing and ministering to one another. Many of these men already travel into neighboring nations teaching and ministering to the body of Christ.

Dismus Nyongesa (Kenya), Hizzie Nazombe (Malawi), Reuben Odago (Kenya),
Luke Odhiambo (Kenya), Dan Agao (Kenya), Peterson Korrok (Kenya)

Rene, Bob and Cliff then traveled with several of the team members three hours up country to Mt. Elgon near the border of Uganda. They held a pastor's conference in the mountain village of Kapsiro.

Kapsiro, Kenya (elevation approx. 11,000 ft.)
Conference was held in the hall at the top center of the picture.

There were close to 80 pastors and church leaders who attended the conference. Most of these men live and minister on Mt. Elgon. This is a very remote area of Kenya that rarely sees westerners. Needless to say, Rene, Bob and Cliff were quite an attraction. The team ministered on the power of God and divine healing. It was wonderful to see the faithfulness of the Lord to heal several people from physical sicknesses.

After four days on the mountain the team returned to Kisumu where they departed for South Africa. After they spent a weekend meeting with several men who minister in the Johannesburg area, Rene returned with Cliff to spend a week with our family. We enjoyed a relaxing time together and spent time with personal friends of the ministry.

God is so faithful and we have a praise report to share. Many of you have been praying for us to find a home. A farm outside of town has several homes close to the owner's house. One of the homes became available and God sovereignly connected us with the right people at the right time. The price is very reasonable including water and electricity, so the Lord has answered many of our desires. Thank God for His perfect plan and timing! We'll be moving the weekend of Dec. 13th, so we hope to be settled by Christmas. Thanks so much for praying with us.

It has been a difficult month personally for us. But we believe that as we stand in faith and obey the Lord following the direction of the Holy Spirit, Jesus will receive all the glory. Thank you for your continued prayers. May God richly bless you today.

Cliff, Stephanie, Camille, Natalie, and Wesley

Ministry Highlight

Luke & Susan Odhiambo

Luke and Susan Odhiambo are dear friends who faithfully serve the Lord in Kenya. Luke and Cliff first met in 1996 in Nairobi, Kenya. We then became very close in 1997 when Cliff, Stephanie and Camille traveled through West Africa in a team with Luke for six weeks. Cliff then ministered with Luke in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998. Luke has a far reaching ministry throughout eastern Africa. He travels regularly into Tanzania, Rowanda, Uganda, as well as throughout Kenya. Luke is a teacher and has an apostolic call to the church in Africa. Susan has a wonderful teaching ministry to the women of Africa. They have six children and reside just outside of the capital city of Nairobi. Please say a prayer this month for Luke and Susan as they travel and minister.

Family Corner

Stephanie & the Kids with
Rene in Cape Town

We enjoyed our time with Rene so much. I think it's important for the kids to see people from America and stay connected to relationships that we have back home.

We had a blessed day as we celebrated our first Thanksgiving in South Africa. Our South African friends that joined us for Turkey Day had a true cross-cultural experience with a complete American traditional meal. Although they questioned several dishes (like the GREEN lime jello salad, the sweet potato casserole, and the pumpkin pie) they had to concede that everything was delicious and tasted much better than they expected. They also thought it was interesting that we use pecans (Pea-can nuts) in so many different dishes.

As we all shared the things that we are thankful to God for this year, we were impressed with how the Lord is actively working, constantly bringing challenges and growth in our lives for His glory.

Our new house! We will be moving on Saturday, December 13th. We are excited about living on the farm. Thanks for all your prayers during our time of looking for a place to live. God is faithful.

Prayer Requests

1. Pray that we will be able to rest during the children's summer break (12/5/3-1/20/04) and be refreshed with new vision for the upcoming year.

2. Pray for wisdom and direction in the ministry and protection for Cliff and the family as he travels more in South Africa.

3. Pray for a smooth transition in our move out to the farm.

4. Pray for increased financial provision for 2004.

5. Pray that God will provide for a second vehicle so that Cliff can be more free to minister as the Lord directs.
