Dear Friends, We pray and believe that you are all prospering in the Lord today! We want to apologize for not sending out a June update. We had some computer challenges and before we knew it June was over and we were hosting guests from America for the month of July. So we will get you caught up by sharing what has been going on with us for the last two months. June was busy with home meetings during the entire month. The meetings were a great blessing as we spent time getting to know people better and were able to see what God is doing in their lives during this season. Cliff continued to teach and equip the people in the areas of understanding the body of Christ and developing an intimate, personal relationship with God. One of the greatest needs we are finding here as time goes by is that many of the Christians have not been taught how to have a personal relationship with the Lord where they can hear His voice and know His will for their lives. We believe that this is an absolute necessity in our walk with God and we are praying that the Lord will mature more and more people in their relationship with Him. This process can only happen by a supernatural work of the Spirit in the life of each person. When people can hear the Lord personally they will be able to fulfill their destiny in Him. As this happens we know we will see the body of Christ mature and begin to fulfill God's purposes in the world. We were also able to spend a good amount of time building personal relationships during the month of June. We have really enjoyed getting to know Brian and Corine Reed and their family. They have four children and live on a farm just outside of Worcester. Brian and Corine spent almost 15 years in YWAM here in South Africa as well as spending 4 1/2 years in Colorado Springs, CO. We really connect deeply with Brian and Corine because of their YWAM association and because of their spending time in America. They returned to South Africa at the end of 1999. Cliff always jokes about them being our only "American" friends here. They are wonderful people and have been a huge blessing to us. We know that they are a gift from the Lord for us. We also had a good friend from Cape Town stay with us for a week toward the end of June. Carmen is a single lady involved in ministry in Elsies River, which is a suburb of Cape Town. She went through some personal challenges in May and was spending some rest and renewal time away in Worcester. We ran into her downtown and the Lord arranged it for her to stay with us for a week. It was a wonderful time for us to have her in our home. We believe it was great time for her as well to have time to process with us what she had experienced. We were able to minister to her and the Lord really deepened our relationship together during this time. We value people and relationships so much and we thank God that He continues to bless us with friends that we know are "joints" in the body of Christ. July was a whirlwind month. The kids were out of school for three weeks for their winter break and we battled some sickness. We also hosted some friends from America. Rodney & Trina Kirkpatrick arrived on July 12 and stayed until August 4. They brought their six year old daughter Bridgett and a good friend, Della Bryant. Rodney, Trina and Bridgett stayed with us while Della stayed at the Kibbutz El-Shammah where she ministered to the Roodewal community. It was a wonderful month of spending time with our dear friends and co-workers in the ministry. The first week we spent every night in a different home in the city. We had over 150 people attend the meetings throughout the week. We ministered personally over every person. It was a wonderful week, but very tiring. It was a great blessing to see the Lord touching His people! We spent the remainder of our time together doing various ministry things in Worcester and Wellington. We spent a lot of time with individuals deepening relationships. We also led two youth rallies, taught at the Timothy Leadership Project, ministered at the Kibbutz and had two meetings in our home for believers in the city. Cliff & Rodney also spent a lot of time with the elders at the Last Days Family Church. We continue to be so aware of God's faithfulness in bringing us to
South Africa. We are very happy and are trusting the Lord for many
years of frutiful ministry here. His ways are so wonderful and it is
a great privilege to serve Him and His church. Thank you all for your
love and prayers. You all are a vital part of what we do and we thank
God for each of you. May God richly bless you all today. Cliff, Stephanie, Camille, Natalie, and Wesley |
Ministry Highlight
The highlight of the month was Della Bryant's first overseas mission trip. The Lord used her powerfully through her prophetic gift and as she shared her testimony of the Lord's deliverance in her life. Five years ago the Lord saved Della out of 30 years of addiction to heroin, cocaine, and methadone. As she ministered to the Roodewal community at the Kibbutz, the Lord used her to touch many people. Among these were the 17 street kids who she shared a house with for two weeks. She also ministered to their families who were inspired to start a ladies prayer meeting where they will intercede on behalf of their sons. Della also ministered in the local prison, the drug rehab center, and was interviewed by the local newspaper. It was an exciting time for Della and for all of us as we watched God's redemptive power to use her past experiences for His glory.
Rodney & Trina Kirkpatrick We also enjoyed a wonderful time of ministry with Rodney and Trina. The month was busy with home meetings, personal ministry opportunities, as well as corporate meetings with the body in Worcester. The mayor of Worcester attended one of the home meetings. She is a strong Christian and she was very receptive to the Lord through the prophetic ministry. We have recently learned that it is her desire to make a public declaration as the mayor of Worcester that she is committing the city to the Lord! This would be a powerful statement in the spiritual realm and in the natural. Please pray for her as the Lord prompts you.

Family Corner We celebrated two birthdays in the family since last time we wrote. Stephanie celebrated her birthday on July 28th and Natalie turned 6 on August 2nd. For Stephanie's birthday we enjoyed a wonderful night out with Rodney & Trina and Brian & Corine at the Haut Cabrier restaurant in Franshoek. Natalie's birthday was a big day. Her biggest present was a new family dog. He is a native South African dog called a Boerboel. We named him Thabo (pronounced tah-boo) which means mountain, because he is going to grow VERY large. Natalie's party with girls from her school was a big success and the girls had lots of fun.
